My goal is to ensure you have a long-lasting, great smelling and safe candle. Here are a few tips to make sure you are getting the most from your candles.
1. First, trim your wicks – I did that for you 🙂
I know you want to light up your black plum and Rhubarb, you wish to smell that sweet fruity scent, and you want it now! I already took the time to trim it for you between 5mm to 1cm This is going to help your candle burn slower and longer. Now it’s your time to ensure you trim your wicks after each burn. Make sure you do this when the wax is solid and not when melted. Make sure you discard all the trimming from inside of the candle. Those trimmings need to be kicked out for good!
2. Always let your first burn last at least 2 hours ( Until melted pool reach the edge of the glass)
The first time you light up a new candle, let it burn for at least 2 hours until the wax reaches the edge of the glass. This will help to prevent tunnelling ( a build-up of wax on one side of the jar only) and make sure your candle burns evenly.
3. That’s been said, don’t burn your candle for too long either!
2-4 hours burn time is enough to fill your home with the scents you love. Any longer and your candle will get too hot, and wick gets too long. Put that flame out and let your candle solidify before trimming the wick and lighting again.
4. Burn in a safe environment
Only place your candle on a fire-resistant surface that is level, keep away from windows, draft and flammable items. Never leave a candle unattended, and keep out of reach of animals and kids. Also be aware that when placing a hot candle on a cool surface like ceramic, glass or marble may cause the vessel to crack.
5. Once there is less than 15cm of wax left in the jar, its time to let go.
Safety measures by industry suggest not to burn a candle all the way to the bottom of the jar, and we are no different. I know, its hard to come to terms with losing your favourite scent, but consider that a chance of trying another lovely fragrance.
6. Replace the cap to your candle
Replace the cap to your jar after it is cooled to keep the fragrances fresh and prevent dust from collecting.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1607298033099{margin-bottom: 30px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/4″ css=”.vc_custom_1607297338205{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”5097″ css=”.vc_custom_1607297363330{margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_column_text]Trim your wick after every burn
